When freshmen athletes walk into practice for the first time, there's normally a sense of fear since they don't know anyone else on the team. Anxiety about fitting in with teammates and terror of doing something wrong can sometimes overwhelm an athlete on that first day of practice. For Wright State's freshmen volleyball players Heidi Splinter and Molly Dolson, however, most of that fear was absent when they walked into practice for the first time in August.

The Wright State volleyball team won the first two sets and had match point at 24-22 in the third, but Georgia State rallied from there as the Panthers won their invitational title Saturday night with a five-set decision over the Raiders, winning 22-25, 19-25, 26-24, 25-19, 15-10.

The Wright State volleyball team fell in four sets to Morehead State Saturday at the Georgia State Invitational by the scores of 12-25, 16-25, 25-21, 18-25.
