The Wright State volleyball program has signed three recruits for the 2010 season in setter Molly Dolson, outside hitter Heidi Splinter and outside hitter Britney Terrell.
"We are very pleased to have these three student-athletes sign with Wright State and feel they have the potential to help our program succeed," said WSU head coach Trina Smith. "They all bring great attributes and hard working characteristics to our team. I can't wait to start working with them and all our returning players next fall."
Dolson (Dubuque, IA/Hempstead), coached by her father--Randy--in high school, was a second-team All State selection as a senior and honorable-mention as a junior. Last fall, the 17-year-old setter registered 117 kills, 43 aces, 780 assists, 270 digs and 74 blocks as she led her team to a 34-6 overall record and advanced to the state semi-finals. She was the team co-MVP last season and was a two-time All District player as well a three-time All City and All League recipient. Hempstead posted a 97-21 record during her career.
Splinter (Dubuque, IA/Hempstead) joined Dolson on her high school squad as well as the Nike Six Pack club team from Cedar Falls, IA, leading their club team to a third place finish in the national tournament. The outside hitter was chosen first-team All Conference as well as All District and Player of the Year by the Dubuque Telegraph-Herald.
Terrell (Canton, OH/Jackson) was a three-sport star at Jackson High School in Canton but excelled as an outside hitter, being named All Region for the last three seasons. In 2009, the Polar Bears finished 18-8 under head coach Jeff Walck as Terrell posted 398 kills, 68 blocks and 185 digs. She collected more than 1,000 kills during her career and led her team to the district finals last fall.
