DAYTON, Ohio – The Wright State women’s tennis squad completed their opening weekend with eight singles victories and three doubles wins at the Ball State Invitational. The Green and Gold had two players claim a pair singles wins, while Taylor Hines teamed with Masha Peresetsky went 2-1 on the doubles side of things at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.

The Raiders got wins out of all six of their singles players and two of the three doubles teams picked up wins in Muncie, Ind. Junior Kenisha Webb and Peresetsky, a sophomore, each claimed two singles victories over the weekend. Webb picked up victories over Butler’s Becky Jenkins and Eastern Illinois Cara Huck competed in the “A” draw, while Peresetsky claimed wins over opponents from Milwaukee and Ball State in the “B” draw.

Senior Jackie Garrett claimed a victory over Butler’s Valerie Vinluan, to go along with wins from all three freshman in the opening weekend. Amanda Albuquerque, Taylor Hines and Amy Nini each won their matches against Dayton, Butler and Eastern Illinois, respectively.

On the doubles side of things, Peresetsky teamed with Hines to post a 2-1 mark. The pair dropped their opening match to the doubles team from Dayton, before claiming victories over Eastern Illinois and Milwaukee to cap the weekend.

The Green and Gold will return to action next weekend when they travel to take part of the IPFW Invitational starting on October 2.
