Sophomore Masha Peresetsky Dropped a Three-Set Decision at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Wright State women’s tennis team opened up their spring season with a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Ball State at the Muncie Northwest YMCA on Thursday (January 21). The young Raiders squad couldn’t pick up any victories, but four freshman, a sophomore, one junior and a senior all dropped hard fought matches against the Cardinals.

 

In doubles, the Raiders dropped a pair of matches to fall behind 1-0. Kenisha Webb and Masha Peresetsky fell 8-5 at #1 Doubles, while Taylor Hines and Amanda Albuquerque fell 8-3 in the #2 Doubles spot.

 

In singles, Peresetsky and Albuquerque each lost tough, three-set matches in the #2 and #3 spots, respectively. The sophomore, Peresetsky, won the opening set, 6-1, before falling 7-6 and 6-2 against Dena Boulieris. Albuquerque also took the opening set, by a score of 7-6, and dropped the final two sets, 7-5 and 10-1, versus Sarah Hebble.

 

The Raiders will return to the court on Friday, January 29 with a match at Duquesne, before heading to Moon Township, Pa. for a January 30 tilt with Robert Morris.
