Dave Brittingham is in his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Wright State softball program.
Brittingham is retired from General Motors/Delphi with 36 years of service. He retired as an Employee Assistance Professional (EAP), earning certifications in EAP and Chemical Dependency.
Brittingham attended Sinclair Community College (labor studies) and attended addiction studies at Ohio State. He served in the Military from January 1967 until July 1970 doing tours in the Mediterranean and Vietnam. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and Three air medals while serving in Vietnam.
Brittingham has played and coached for 40 years. After first playing fastpitch in the military, Dave coached in the Xenia baseball program for nine years, six as an assistant and three as head coach compiling a record of 46-35.
Brittingham began coaching in the Miami Valley Xpress (one of the top travel ball organizations in Ohio) in 1987. He has coached the 18u teams since 2001, including the summer and fall college tour team. His teams have had two seventh place,a fifth place and a third place finishes in World Series play.
All players that played for Brittingham since 2001 have went on to play in college with over half going on to play at the Division I level.
Brittingham lives in Xenia with his wife Julie.
