GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Wright State women’s soccer team held a 19-7 edge in shots, but the lone shot that counted came off the foot of sophomore Brittany Persaud in the 14th minute of WSU 1-0 victory at Green Bay on Friday evening. Meghan Hackerson made three saves in net for WSU to post her sixth blanking of the season and the Green and Gold held the edge in shots and corner kicks on the evening.
The Raiders took ten corner kicks and fired 12 shots in the opening frame against the Phoenix, but the only shot that mattered was struck at the 14:49 mark off the foot of Persaud. The sophomore took a pass from Amber Kasmer and connected on a shot to the lower corner of the net from 17 yards out.

WSU would hold UWGB off the board for the remainder of the contest, outshooting the host Phoenix 19-7 with a 13-1 edge in corner kicks for the contest. The Green and Gold placed six shots on goal, connecting on the lone tally, while Green Bay put three shots on target.
Hackerson made one save in the opening frame and a pair of saves in the second half to preserve her 21st shutout of her career. Her career high is eight blankings, set last season, and she is only three shutouts shy of taking over the career record from Steph Comisar.
The Green and Gold improve to 9-5-2 overall and are now 4-1-0 in Horizon League play heading into their final three league matches of the season. WSU will tangle with league leading Milwaukee on Sunday, October 18 starting at 1:00 Dayton time.
