The Wright State women's basketball team trailed by just four early in the second half, but it was all Miami the rest of the way as the RedHawks went on a 37-11 run en route to a 90-63 decision at the Nutter Center Tuesday night.

Miami scored the initial eight points of the contest and led 17-3 after an Eve Pyle layup at the 15:02 mark, but WSU battled back and trimmed the deficit to 24-22 on an Erica Richardson basket with 4:24 remaining in the half.

The margin was still two at 26-24 following a Sierra Crayton layup, but the RedHawks answered with six straight points, four coming from Sarah Hull, and led 34-28 at the break.

A Tyanda Hammock jumper made the score 38-34 with 18:29 remaining, but a 10-0 run, the final six as a result of a pair of Hull threes, gave the RedHawks a double-digit lead. Miami later blew the game wide open with a 13-0 run, capped off by threes from Hull and Jenna Schone.

The final shooting percentages were somewhat similar as Miami shot 46 percent to Wright State's 38 percent, but the RedHawks hit 17 of 30 shots the final 20 minutes for 57 percent, including six for seven from three-point range. Miami also made 25 of 29 foul shots, 16 of 19 in the second half, compared 14 of 18 for the Raiders.

Crayton had a career-best 16 points off the bench for Wright State, eclipsing her previous high of nine set last season, while Brittney Whiteside also had 16 to move up to sixth on the Raider all-time scoring list with 1,118 career points.

Hull paced all scorers with 23, including five three-pointers, for Miami (2-2) while Pyle had 16, Stephanie Ford 12 off the bench and Laura Markwood 11. Schone dished out 10 assists to go with her seven points while Springfield native Amanda Jackson had nine points and six assists.

Wright State, now 0-2 on the season, returns to action this weekend at the Miami Thanksgiving Tournament in Coral Gables, Florida. The Raiders open tournament play on Friday, November 24, against the Indiana Hoosiers starting at 5:00.
