DAYTON, Ohio – The Wright State men’s tennis team wrapped up the regular season with a pair of losses to in-state foes. On Saturday, the Green and Gold dropped a 6-1 decision at Cleveland State with Mihkel Kruusmagi winning the lone point. On Sunday, the Green and Gold dropped a 4-0 decision at Ohio State, nearly taking the doubles point from the nationally ranked Buckeyes.

Versus the Vikings, WSU could only crack the scoring column in one match as the rookie Krussmagi won a three-set match at the #5 position. The freshman won a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 match over Robert Fox to claim the only win of the afternoon for Wright State.

At Ohio State, the Green and Gold nearly grabbed the doubles point to start things off against the #2-ranked Buckeyes. At the #1 position, Jan Alafriz and Kruusmagi dropped a tough 8-6 decision, while Brian Dredge and Landon Neuman were up a break at the #2 spot before the match was unfinished due to the Buckeyes victory at the #3 position.

The Raiders then dropped the first three singles posts – with the final three matches being unfinished – to fall 4-0 against the Buckeyes.

Wright State will open up play in the Horizon League Tournament on Friday, April 24 with a match versus Green Bay. The match will be played at North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana starting at 1:00.
