DAYTON, Ohio – The Wright State men’s tennis team split a pair of matches on their road trip through Pennsylvania this past weekend, falling 5-2 at Duquesne on Friday (January 29) before grabbing a 6-1 victory at Robert Morris on Saturday (January 30). Brian Dredge won all four of his matches this weekend, claiming two singles and a pair of doubles victories, and freshman Tore Waldhausen was 3-1 overall on the weekend.
At Duquesne, the Green and Gold took the doubles points when the teams of Tore Waldhausen and Brian Dredge won at eth #2 spot, followed by an 8-1 victory from Landon and Evan Neuman at the #3 spot. WSU would grab only one point in the singles portion, however, as Dredge claimed a 6-4 and 6-4 victory at the #4 post.

Senior Nick Camilleri dropped a closely contested match at #1 Singles and rookie Tore Waldhausen fell in three sets at the #2 Singles spot. Landon Neuman was defeated in the #3 Singles position by scores of 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 and brother Evan Neuman fell 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 in the #6 post.
The Raiders grabbed their first victory of the season at Robert Morris behind a strong effort from Dredge and Waldhausen. The duo teamed up for another doubles victory versus the Colonials, winning 8-3 in the #2 spot, and the Neuman brothers grabbed a victory at the #3 position. Camilleri and Mihkel Kruusmagi won their #1 Doubles match by a score of 8-6.
In the singles portion of the event, Camilleri, Waldhausen, Landon Neuman and Dredge all won two-set matches versus their counterparts, while Kruusmagi won an 8-6 decision at #5 Singles.
The Raiders are now 1-2 overall this season and will return to action on Friday, February 5 in their home opener versus Kennesaw State. The Raiders and Owls will take to the courts at the South Regency Tennis Center starting at 11:00 a.m.
