DAYTON, Ohio – The Wright State men’s soccer team saw their early 1-0 led vanish on Saturday versus Tiffin at the WSU Practice Field, but the Raiders would score late and take a 2-2 tie in their opening spring game. WSU held the advantage in shots and saves, while Uros Grujic tallied the opening goal of the spring for the Raiders

Wright State got on the board in the opening half when Grujic, who took only one shot in the match, connected for his first goal of the spring in the 22nd minute. The junior has not scored a goal for WSU over the past three seasons, but converted on his chance to push the Raider to an early 1-0 lead.

That lead would stand at the half, but the Dragons would use tallies from Tony Iyayi (48th minute) and Kyle Millinger (81st) to capture the lead heading down the stretch.

With just two minutes remaining in the match, junior Braden Fleak would break away from the pack and beat the keeper in the 88th minute to even things up at 2-2. Neither team would have a chance after that, with the match ending after regulation in a tie.

The Green and Gold held the advantage in shots, 13-11, and freshman goalkeeper Aaron Ritter made four saves in 90 minutes for WSU. Fleak launched five shots, while Carl Ebers took three shots in the match. Tiffin took six corner kicks to only one for the Raiders, while a pair of Dragon backstops made three saves in the contest.

The Raiders next match will be played on the road against Indianapolis on Thursday, April 9th. The Green and Gold will take to the pitch against the Greyhounds for a 7:00 contest.
