Cross Country Competes at Horizon League Championships

The Wright State cross country programs competed at the Horizon League Championships on Saturday in Green Bay. The men's squad was seventh of nine teams, while the women's squad posted an eighth place finish out of 10 teams.

Senior Jake Bradosky paced the Raiders squad with a 19th place overall finish and a time of 26:24. Freshman Jake McCubbin crossed the finish line in 24th place with a time of 26:44 and sophomore Isaiah Kessio was 41st in a time of 27:12.

Kyle Fetters finish 56th in his first race back after injury, crossing the finish line in 27:57, and rookie Randy Depoy ran an identical time and finished 57th.

In the women's race, the Green and Gold were led by sophomore Natalie Hopwood, who finished 20th with a time of 19:19, and rookie Bianca Walker. Walker posted a time of 19:50 and placed 28th overall at the championships.

Freshman Kristen Goodwin crossed the line in a time of 20:21 - good for 43rd - and sophomore Alyssa Glenn was 44th with a time of 20:27.Ashley Diltz finished 48th in a time of 20:37 to round out the scoring for the Raiders.

The women's squad was the only team to compete without an upperclassmen on their roster at the Champonships this season. WSU had two sophomores (Hopwood, Glenn) and four freshman (Erin Cull, Diltz, Goodwin, Walker) on the course for the Horizon Leauge meet.
 

 

WSU will now look forward to competing at the 2008 NCAA Great Lakes Regional on November 15th in West Lafyette, Indiana.
