The Raiders may not have come home with any team championships this season, but the young squads did make some waves in the pool during the 2008-09 slate. Overall, the two teams broke nine individual school records, six school relay marks and four Horizon League Championship records. The men's squad placed second at the league meet, while the women's team placed third at the championships in 2009.

The Raiders couldn't finish their comeback on the men's side - placing second - and the women couldn't overcome a slow start to finish third at the 2009 Horizon League Championships. Nathan Demchuk won the only event for the men's squad, while Krystyna Wieczerzak set a new championship record in the 200 backstroke on the final day.

The Raiders had a successful day at the 2009 Horizon League Championships on Friday, as the men pulled into second place and the women's team continued to sit in third place. Two men's swimmers and two female swimmers captured individual titles, while WSU set four championship records on the day.
