DAYTON, Ohio - The Wright State swimming and diving programs each came away with victories over Cleveland State on Saturday (January 23), with the women's squad also claiming a dual meet with Youngstown State. The men's team won 149-94 versus the Vikings, while the women took a 150-91 decision against CSU and a 154-88 win over YSU.

 

Versus Cleveland State, the men's squad won seven individual events and both of the relays competed at the Wright State Natatorium. WSU took either the top spot or runner up in 12 of 13 events and took the top two spots in five events.

 


 

 

Hermanus Botha won the 100 and 200 Freestyle events versus the Vikings, while helping the 400 Freestyle Relay team to an event win to close out the meet. Caleb Nettleton took the top spot on the 1-meter board and was second at the 3-meter distance.

 

Molley Pipkorn continued her dominance in the freestyle events this season, winning all four freestyle swims that she competed in versus Cleveland State and Youngstown State. The sophomore is now 19-1 overall in freestyle swims this season and also was a part of the winning 400 Freestyle Relay team.

 

Krystyna Wieczerzak won a trio of individual events, two versus YSU and one CSU, while helping both medley relay teams to wins. Justyna Hampel won both distance swims against Cleveland State, while six different WSU swimmers won individual events on the day.

 

The Raiders will return to the pool in their final home meet of the 2009-10 season on Saturday, January 30. The meet will include Wall of Fame inductions of three members and senior night for the six seniors on the 2009-10 squad.
