WSU wins 99-36 over Cincinnati Christian
The Wright State women's basketball team (8-2) shot well and spread the scoring as the Raiders took care of business in a 99-36 win over Cincinnati Christian Thursday afternoon on Education Day at WSU's Nutter Center.
Game Breakdown
First Quarter (30-5)
   *Defense and scoring was the key to the Raiders attack.
   *WSU shot 60% from the field and outrebounded CCU 18-5 as Mackenzie Taylor led the way with five points.
   *Off the bench, Kiana Adderton and Jalise Beck each had four points.
Second Quarter (52-14)
   *The Raiders again used many guns to outscore the Eagles 22-9.
   *Taylor hit another three pointer to give her eight points while Adderton also finished the first 20 minutes with eight.
   *WSU dipped to 47.4% from the field.
   *Beck had six points at the break while Breaunna Lloyd also finished with six points.
Third Quarter (82-26)
   *The third period score was 30-12 as the Raider continued to excel on the offensive and defensive ends.
   *Senior Chelsea Welch collected seven points in the quarter for 11 points
   *Fellow senior Lexi Smith dented the board for the first time for six points.
Fourth Quarter (99-36)
   *The Raiders shot 53.9% for the game while hitting eight threes.
   *WSU outrebounded CCU 59-22 as Dasia Evans led the Raiders with 12 boards.Â
   *Five Raiders scored in double figures: Beck 14, Welch 13, Taylor, Lloyd and Adderton 12 points each.
   *Beck added six assists.
   *WSu caused 21 turnovers with 11 steals.
Key Numbers
   *WSU outscored CCU 54-4 in the paint, 27-5 off turnovers, 26-0 on second chance points and 55-17 off the bench.
   *CCU's 36 points tied for the third lowest WSU has given up in Division I play (since 1987-88).
