Cheerleaders Help Former Raider Dip Into Business

Beavercreek, OH -- On the newly paved streets of The Greene Town Center the Wright State Spirit Unit helped former Raider golfer Pete Samborsky open his new Coldstone Creamery by dipping ice cream and greeting customers.

The Cheerleaders and Rowdy Raider helped Samborsky (pictured with Rowdy) kickoff his new venture in style as they took the scoops and dished out the chilly treats to patrons that flooded the streets for the opening of the new shopping complex in Beavercreek. The first 250 customers received two tickets to the Wright State men's basketball home opener as well as their own concoction of ice cream and toppings.

Samborsky roamed the fairway's for WSU from 1993-1997 and helped the Green and Gold to the Midwestern Collegiate Conference championship twice in 1996 and 1997. Samborsky's best finish at the MCC championship came during the 96 and 97 seasons when he tied for seventh each time.

Earlier this month Samborsky claimed the Miami Valley Golfers Association Metro Championship held at Greene Country Club. Samborsky finished the 72-hole event with a four-under-par score of 284.
