Julie Owen, formerly of the athletic compliance office at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, has been named the Director of Compliance for Wright State University Athletics, WSU Athletics Director Mike Cusack announced today.
Owen, a recent graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, has worked at UWGB this past year and boasts experience with the Sun Belt Conference, Utah Starzz of the WNBA and Wake Forest University athletics. The Neenah, Wisconsin, native will head up the Raiders compliance office to ensure proper NCAA guidelines have been met for the student-athletes and coaches.
"Julie comes to us with a wealth of experience at several universities," Cusack said. "We were very impressed with her values and understanding of compliance issues."
Owen also holds a master's degree from Ohio University and received a bachelor's degree in economics from Colorado College. She replaces Rod Perry who took a similar position at Ohio University.
