Baseball Enters Final Weekend by Hosting Senior Day

The Wright State baseball team will play the final weekend series of the regular season by hosting UIC Thursday and Friday at 6:30 pm and Saturday at 2 pm.  Saturday will also be senior day.

Raider baseball, currently 21-26, 8-10, has been led by four hitting over .300: Kieston Greene .346, Garrett Gray .331, Mark Fowler .321 and Kody Krizman .310.  Michael Timm leads the team with 31 RBI with Gray at 29.  Gray and Greene each have four home runs.  Casey Henn, Joey Hoelzel and Trevor Swaney each have four wins on the wound to top the team.

WSU will honor its seven seniors after the 2 pm game on Saturday.  They include Justin Kopale (Oak Forest, IL), Tanner Howell (Beardstown, IL), Sam Picchiotti (Oak Park, IL), Krizman (Strongsville, OH), Casey Henn (Cincinnati, OH), Gray (Lewisburg, OH) and Cody Kopilchack (Lima, OH).

UIC is currently 24-25, 11-10 and is in second place, a game ahead of Valparaiso (24-26, 10-11) in the Horizon League baseball race.  WSU is in fourth with Youngstown State in fifth place at 14-37, 8-13.  Milwaukee (26-19, 14-7) clinched the regular-season title over the weekend.  The Panthers are off this weekend while YSU plays three at Valpo.

Saturday’s game can be seen live on The Horizon League Network at 2 pm.
