Kim Demmings was selected to the All-Tournament Team as the Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship wrapped up Sunday afternoon.
Demmings (Richmond, IN/Richmond) scored 50 points, gathered in 16 rebounds and dished out nine assists while shooting 51 percent from the field as the Raiders advanced to the semifinals.
In a 91-67 quarterfinal win over Loyola on Wednesday at WSU's Nutter Center, the freshman guard posted a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. It was the third time this season that Demmings had scored 30 or more points in a game and was her fifth double-double of the year (one double-double was points and assists). She was 13 of 21 from the field and added four assists.
The Raiders then fell 78-70 to Detroit in the semifinals on Friday in Green Bay despite Demmings scoring 20 points with six rebounds and five assists. She was eight of 20 from the field.
Named the Horizon League First Team and as the Co-Newcomer of the Year earlier this week, Demmings is second in the conference in scoring at 18.4 points per game, third in assists at 4.3 per contest and 16th in rebounding at 6.1.
Wright State (20-12) now awaits its postseason fate as the brackets for the NCAA, Women's NIT and Women's Basketball Invitational are announced on Monday.
