Vest Named HL Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month

Senior Matt Vest of the Wright State men's basketball team has been named the Horizon League Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month for February.

Vest holds a 4.0 grade point average while earning a MBA in graduate school. He has been honored on the Dean’s List as well as the Horizon League Honor Roll during his time at Wright State.

Vest led the Raiders to the championship game of the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament while averaging 8.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in February. From the field, he shot 46 percent overall, including 10-for-19 from the three-point range. In his standout game against Detroit, Vest scored 16 points with three three-pointers. He also had impressive performances versus Green Bay and Oakland, scoring eight points in each contest.  Vest was named to the League’s All-Defensive Team.

The Wright State men’s basketball team concluded its season in the second round of the postseason (CIT) Tournament after finishing runner-up at the Horizon League Championships.
