The Wright State baseball team completed a Horizon League series sweep of Oakland Sunday at Nischwitz Stadium, scoring three runs in the final two innings to pull out a 5-2 victory.
WSU took advantage of three Oakland errors in scoring twice in the first. Brad Macciocchi, Joe Ford and Andrew McCafferty each reached on errors to start the frame, resulting in the first run, and Kieston Greene drove in the second with a bunt single to third.
The Golden Grizzlies tied the game with single runs in the third and sixth and it stayed that way until the Raiders scored a run in the seventh. With one out, Jeff Limbaugh singled to center and went to second on a wild pitch. One out later, Macciocchi snuck a double just past the third baseman down the left field line to plate Limbaugh with the go-ahead run.
Wright State added two insurance runs in the eighth as Greene had a sacrifice fly to right and Michael Timm scored on a wild pitch.
Robby Sexton (4-2) picked up the win for WSU, striking out seven in seven innings while Logan Blair earned his first save, allowing just a hit over the final two innings with a strikeout.
Offensively, Limbaugh finished with three hits while Greene drove in two and McCafferty scored twice.
Wright State (12-10, 6-0 Horizon) hosts Akron Tuesday at 6:30.
