The offense was again in high gear Friday night for the Wright State baseball team as the Raiders rolled to an 18-2 Horizon League win over Youngstown State at Nischwitz Stadium.
RBI ground outs by Tristan Moore and Ryan Ashe gave WSU a 2-0 lead in the first and the margin grew to 5-0 in the third as Moore tripled in Corey Davis, later scored on an Ashe sacrifice fly and Garrett Gray had a RBI single.
Bases loaded walks to Davis, Moore and Zach Tanner along with a two-run Gray hit pushed the lead to 10-0 in the fourth and Wright State added four more in the fifth, two coming on a Moore single. The Raiders added two more in the sixth and two more in the eighth to round out their scoring.
On the mound, Cody Kopilchack (3-2) went the first five innings for the win, striking out six, while Andrew Elliott and Travis Hissong each pitched two innings, with Hissong fanning three.
Davis finished four-for-four with two RBI and five runs scored to pace the WSU offense while Moore had five RBI and three runs scored, Gray four RBI and Jake Hibberd and Kyle Mossbarger each had three runs scored.
Wright State (18-10, 9-2 Horizon), who has now won nine straight and 12 of its last 13, wraps up the series with the Penguins Saturday at 2:00.
