The Wright State baseball team hosted their second annual Wright State Baseball vs. Cancer game on Saturday, March 30, in conjunction with their series finale with Youngstown State at Nischwitz Stadium.
After the game, members of the team, other Wright State student-athletes and fans had their heads shaved by stylists from Tavernier Salon on the new Concourse of Championship to raise awareness for childhood career. In addition to shaving their heads, the team colleced donations in support of the Vs. Cancer Foundation and Dayton Children's Medical Center leading up to and at the game.
Altogether, the team raised a total of $5,003 for childhood cancer research. Sophomore pitcher Jack Van Horn led the players with a total of $550 while associate head coach Greg Lovelady led all donations at $596. Senior players Garrett Gray and Cody Kopilchack had the opportunity to shave head coach Rob Cooper's head.
