Baseball to Hold Walk-On Tryouts
Release: Wednesday 08/08/2012
by WSU Athletic Media Relations

The Wright State baseball team will be holding walk-on tryouts on Tuesday, September 11, for all prospective student-athletes at the Athletes in Action complex in Xenia starting at 4:00.

In order to be eligible to participate, all potential student-athletes must meet each of the following criteria: Each athlete must be accepted to Wright State University, must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours for the current quarter, must be registered and cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse and must have a physical from your physician prior to the first day of tryouts with proper documentation to give to our Athletic Training Staff.

Potential student-athletes must fill out and print the attached forms and all paperwork needs to be turned into Associate Head Coach Greg Lovelady by Thursday, September 6.  Potential student-athletes also need to have a sickle cell screen done along with a drug test and have the results turned in with their paperwork.  For more information on the sickle cell screen, click here.

Also, if you are already a student at Wright State University you must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher in order to eligible for competition and practice.

All potential student-athletes are invited to tryout, however, it does not guarantee a spot on the roster. The number of open roster positions and the team's needs ultimately decide if you are invited to be part of the Wright State University baseball program.   Contact Associate Head Coach Greg Lovelady at greg.lovelady@wright.edu if you have any questions or need more information.
