Baseball Heads to Chicago for Horizon League Tournament

The Wright State baseball team will head to the Windy City for the 2012 Horizon League Tournament, held at UIC's Les Miller Field Wednesday through Sunday.

The Raiders (36-19, 20-10 Horizon) will have the #2 seed after taking the crown last season.  WSU has been led by senior outfielder and team MVP Ryan Ashe with a .373 batting average and 45 RBIs while relief pitcher Jordan Marker has posted a team best 9-2 mark and 2.45 ERA on the mound. 

WSU receives a first-round bye and will open the tournament against the highest remaining seed from Wednesday's first-round games at 4:00 pm Eastern on Thursday.

Valparaiso won the regular season title and will be the #1 seed while Milwaukee is third, host UIC fourth, Butler fifth and Youngstown State sixth.  The tournament starts Wednesday at noon Eastern as UIC takes on Butler followed by Milwaukee and Youngstown State playing at 5 pm Dayton time.

The 2012 All-League teams will be released this week prior to the start of the tournament.
