Volleyball Signs Michigan Middle Blocker

New Wright State head volleyball coach Susan Clements has announced that Marisa Aiello, a 6-0 middle blocker, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Raiders this fall.

Aiello (Rochester Hills, MI/Avondale) has garnered numerous academic and athletic accolades during her four-year varsity career for the Yellowjackets.  She was an Honorable Mention All-State selection as well as All-Region Top Ten, First Team All-County and All-League.     Aiello was also chosen team MVP, won the squad awards for Best Offensive Player and Best All-Around and also received Scholar-Athlete honors.  In 2011, she helped lead Avondale to its first ever District Championship win.

Along with her high school career, Aiello has played on the National team for Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy since the eighth grade.  During her time there, Michigan Elite, ranked 26th in the country, placed first and second in the state open division, finished first at the Presidents Day Tournament in Washington D.C. open division and last year qualified in Baltimore, Maryland, to compete at the Junior Olympics open division in Atlanta, Georgia.

Aiello plans to study Business Marketing/Management at Wright State and to go on to pursue an MBA in Sports Management.
