The Wright State volleyball team fell in three sets at Milwaukee Saturday afternoon by the scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.
WSU only trailed 16-14 in the first set following a block by Heidi Splinter and Ashley Langjahr, but, after a timeout, the Panthers scored the next three points and closed the set with a 9-2 run overall.
The Raiders again battled the Panthers tight in the early going of the second set with 11 ties and six lead changes. UWM, though, again put together a late run, this time 9-0 after an Alaina McAuley kill made it 16-15.
Wright State then led 10-6 in the third set before three Elizabeth Egerer kills helped Milwaukee tie it at 11. Kills by WSU's Langjahr and Aimee Schubert knotted the score at 13 before the Panthers went in front to stay with six unanswered points and ended the match on a 12-3 run.
Splinter led the way with 10 kills in hitting .333 for the Raiders while Jessica Levy had 16 digs and Dani Branco 10.
Egerer paced Milwaukee (11-4, 4-0 Horizon) with 15 kills as she hit .481 for the match while Kerri Schuh posted a double-double of 12 kills and 10 digs.
