The Wright State softball team came out on the short end on a pair of one-run decisions Saturday at the Woo Pig Classic in Fayetteville, Arkansas, falling to Northern Iowa 2-1 and Jacksonville State 4-3.
WSU and UNI were locked up in a scoreless duel until the Raiders broke through with a run in the fifth. Angie Clark reached on an error and later scored on an infield hit off the bat of Taylor Knore.
The Panthers, however, tied it with a solo home run in the sixth and scored an unearned run in the seventh to pull out the win.
Against Jacksonville State, Wright State again had the lead first, scoring a run in the first. After Angie Clark doubled and Jess Gorman singled, Clark scored as Gorman was thrown out on a steal attempt.
The Raiders made it 3-0 in the fourth as Taylor Knore singled, Hanna Floyd reached on an error and both scored on a Montana Wear double.
The Gamecocks, though, came back for the win as they scored two in the fourth and one each in the sixth and seventh.
Wright State (2-12) takes on Northern Iowa in the third-place game on Sunday at 11:00 Eastern.
