Three Wright State players were recognized as the softball All-Horizon League teams were announced Tuesday afternoon.  Sophomores Kristi Boreing and Krystian DeWitt were each named to the Second Team while freshman Jess Gorman was selected to the All-Newcomer Team.

Boreing (Deer Park, OH/Mount Notre Dame), a sophomore outfielder, tied for the league lead in triples this season with three and tied for fifth in hits with 59 as she finished with a .335 batting average to lead the team.  She also paced the squad with 24 runs scored, 11 doubles, a .466 slugging percentage, a .377 on-base percentage and 10 stolen bases, which was eighth in the league.

Boreing, who has also been chosen Second Team All-Horizon League by collegesportsmadness.com, recorded 16 multi-hit games in 2012 and had six multi-RBI games.

DeWitt (Garden Grove, CA/Pacifica), a sophomore pitcher, led the league in innings pitched (263.2) and strikeouts (210) while tying for second in wins (16).  She made 48 appearances, including 40 starts, with 29 complete games, three shutouts and two saves.

DeWitt struck a season-high nine batters in the first game of a doubleheader against Green Bay on April 28 and had eight strikeouts in a game versus Western Illinois, Loyola, Detroit, Cleveland State, Valparaiso and Youngstown State.  She fanned seven in four other Horizon League games.

Along with her recognition by the Horizon League, DeWitt has been selected as the league Pitcher of the Year by collegesportsmadness.com and was named to the league's First Team.

Gorman (Hartville, OH/Marlington), a freshman outfielder, hit .250 in 46 games, including 41 starts, with two home runs and nine RBI along with 21 runs scored.  She had six multi-hit games, including three against Maryland on February 18.
