The Wright State softball team rallied for two runs in the seventh and had the potential tying run on deck, but it wasn't enough as they dropped a 6-2 decision at Marshall Wednesday afternoon.
Marshall scored single runs in the second and fourth and twice in the third and fifth to build a 6-0 advantage heading into the final inning.
In the seventh, however, the Raiders put together a rally, starting with Jess Gorman reaching on an error. She moved up to third on a ground out and a passed ball and scored on a two-out single from China Frost.
After Chelsea Archer singled up the middle, Kacie Rapshus made it 6-2 with a double to left center, but the rally ended there on a ground out.
Frost and Gorman each had two hits to pace the WSU offense.
Wright State (20-27) begins its final five-game homestand of the year on Saturday with a 1:00 Horizon League doubleheader against Green Bay.
