Men's Soccer to Host Ohio State
Release: Thursday 04/16/2012
by WSU Athletic Media Relations

The Wright State men's soccer team will host the Ohio State Buckeyes in an exhibition match at Alumni Field on Friday, April 20, at 8:00.

That match will be the Friday Showcase Game for the Blue Chip Tournament that will take place that weekend throughout the area.  It will be OSU's first visit to Wright State since the 1998 season as the Raiders led the series 9-5-7.

After being picked last in the preseason Horizon League poll in 2011, the Raiders finished second in the standings and advanced to the league championship match before falling 1-0 to Loyola.  WSU went 11-7-2 for its first winning record since 2001.  The Buckeyes finished 10-7-2 in 2011.

In 2012, 10 starters return, including junior Bryce Rockwell-Ashton, who was named First Team All-Horizon League last season.  Also back are sophomores Craig Feehan, Justin Laird and Gustav Svensson, who were each selected to the All-Newcomer Team, with Feehan being chosen as the Newcomer of the Year.

Admission to the contest is free to the public.  The game will also streamed live online at wsuraiders.com.
