Senior Jake Hibberd of the baseball team has been named as the Wright State Student-Athlete Advisory Council's Athlete of the Month for the period of March 1-April 8, it was announced at their monthly meeting Monday.
Hibberd (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) hit .431 over 23 games during the period with six home runs, 26 runs scored and 33 RBI. He hit safely in all 23 games and had 13 multi-hit games.
Named the Horizon League Batter of the Week on March 19, Hibberd went three for three with two RBI in final game with Southeast Missouri and then had eight hits and six RBI in UIC series. He also had eight hits and along with seven RBI in Butler series and was four for four with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored in Youngstown State series opener, a game that saw WSU set a school record for runs in a game with a 32-4 victory.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Council holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
