Cassandra Lloyd and Julius Mays have been named the Wright State Student-Athlete Advisory Council's Athletes of the Month for the period of December 8-January 7, it was announced at their monthly meeting Sunday.
Lloyd (Springfield, OH/South) won the 60 meter hurdles and 60 meter dash in leading WSU to the Purple and White Invitational title. The senior set a new school record in 60 meter hurdles at Buckeye Classic.
Mays (Marion, IN/Marion) averaged 17.3 points per game over seven games. He scored a career-high 28 points, including the game-winning three in overtime, against Idaho on December 20. The junior guard also scored 24 points versus Butler and had 23 points at Loyola and 21 at UIC. Mays was selected as the Horizon League Co-Player of the Week on December 27.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Council holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
