The Wright State baseball team dropped a pair of Horizon League games at UIC on Saturday, falling 5-0 in the opener and 6-3 in the second game.
WSU managed just fivee baserunners in the first game, with the lone hit being a Matt Morrow double to right center in the third. The Flames scored two runs in the second, one in the sixth and two more in the eighth.
In the second game, the Raiders opened the scoring with a run in the sixth. With one out, Morrow doubled to left and scored on a RBI single by Zach Weatherford to center.
UIC, though, answered back by scoring in each of its final three innings with three in the sixth, two in the seventh and one in the eighth. WSU tallied a pair of run in its half of the eighth as Brandon Giltrow singled to right and Morrow followed with a two-run home run to right, his fourth of the season.
Morrow finished with two hits, two RBI and two runs scored in the second game while Gabe Snyder and Giltrow also had two hits.
Wright State (34-18, 19-8 Horizon) continues its five-game set with UIC with a three-game series at Nischwitz Stadium next weekend, starting with a single game on Thursday, May 18, at 6:30.
