Softball Travels to Valparaiso

The Wright State softball team ends the regular season with a trip to Valparaiso this weekend.

The Raiders will play a doubleheader Saturday and a single game on Sunday, both starting at 1 pm.

Raiders: Wright State, 20-26 and 14-7, has won five of the six contests, including all three from Northern Kentucky in a mid-week series this week.

Honnah Susor leads the team with a .392 batting average while Macy Cook sits at .371.  Libby Pfeffer has a .316 average with 13 doubles and 20 RBI.  Vivi Marquez has 22 RBI to lead the team.  Ashley Sharp leads the pitchers with a 4.60 ERA and a 15-12 record in 37 appearances.

Valparaiso: The Crusaders, 24-21 and 11-10, have lost six straight, including three over the weekend at home to Oakland.

Sam Stewart leads the Crusaders with a .378 average, 13 homeruns and 43 RBI while Carly Trepanier holds a .365 average with eight doubles and four triples.  Mackenzie Grossmann leads the pitching corps with a 17-10 record, three saves and a 3.31 ERA.

Valparaiso leads the overall series 26-16.

Next Up: The Raiders will play in the Horizon League Tournament, starting Wednesday.  The tournament is hosted by the top seed, which will be determined this weekend.
