by WSU Athletic Media Relations

The Wright State track team competed Saturday in the RedHawk Invitational hosted by Miami University.

Sophomore Maria Heckman established a new school record in the pole vault, clearing 3.80m, eclipsing the previous record of 3.65m that she set at the Miami Duals on April 1.

Fellow sophomore Aurora Turner won her heat in the 1500 meter run going away and set a new personal best in the final, with a time of 4:48. Turner became just the sixth Raider to break 4:50 in the 1500 meter run.  Another sophomore, Brooklyn Mikesell, placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.52.

Freshman Sophia Angelopoulos set a new personal best in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.93, moving into sixth place on the Raider list.

Wright State will return to action next weekend, May 5-7, as it competes in the Horizon League Championships, hosted by Youngstown State University.
