Wright State junior Karoline Haller has been selected as the Horizon League Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending April 23, it was announced Tuesday by the league office.
Haller (Bekkestua, Norway) helped lead the Raiders to a 4-3 win at Northern Kentucky on Friday, April 21, a victory that clinched a spot in this week's Horizon League Tournament for WSU. She posted a 6-3, 6-3 win in #1 singles over Margita Sunjic, handing Sunjic her first loss in league play this season.
Haller also teamed with Linsey Verstrepen to win 6-3 in #2 doubles.
On the season, Haller has recorded 13 singles wins, including decisions over Butler, Ball State, Cincinnati, Green Bay, Cleveland State, Valparaiso, Detroit Mercy and Oakland along with NKU. She also has 20 doubles wins, including Dayton, Butler, Ball State, Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Toledo, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Cleveland State and UIC.
For her career, Haller currently ranks 10th on the Raider all-time win list in singles with 60 and is just outside of the top 10 in doubles wins (56) and overall wins (116).
This is the second time this season that Haller has been named as the Player of the Week as she also received the honor on March 7.
Wright State (14-13, 4-5 Horizon) opens Horizon League Tournament play on Friday, April 28, at 3:00 as the #6 seed Raiders face #3 seed UIC in the opening round at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
