The Wright State softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Marshall Wednesday afternoon, falling 4-2 in the opener and 9-1 in the second game.
The Thundering Herd took a 3-0 lead with a run in the first and two more in the second, only to see the Raiders answer with a run in the fourth. Libby Pfeffer led off the frame with a double to center, advanced to third on a wild pitch and came in to score on a Honnah Susor hit to right.
Marshall pushed the margin back up to three with a run of its own in the fourth and it stayed that way until WSU tallied a run in the seventh on a solo home run to left by Alexis Mayle, her second of the season.
In the second game, Marshall scored in all five innings. The lone WSU run came in the fourth as Macy Cook scored on an error.
Wright State (9-18) returns to Horizon League this weekend as the Raiders travel to Cleveland State for a three-game series.
