The Wright State golf team will host the annual Wright State Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Miami Valley Golf Club.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. The club is located at 3311 Salem Ave. in Dayton. Live stats can be found here.
The Raiders have been led by senior Ryan Wenzler. Wenzler (Centerville, OH/Centerville) led the way for the Raiders at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate last week, finishing in third place after shooting 74-67-68=209 at the Sevierville Golf Cub in Tennessee. He was seven under and four shots off the lead. Wenzler also placed third at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational in the fall, where he shot his best round of 66.
Wright State placed third of nine teams at last year’s Wright State Invitational when Cody Nickson led the way. Nickson tied for seventh with a three-round score of 220, including an even-par 71 on Tuesday. Wenzler placed 13th with a 224.
The 71-par, 18-hole course has been the home of the Raiders for several years with a total length of 6.589. Several Horizon League teams such as Green Bay, Valparaiso and Northern Kentucky as well as Loyola are expected to participate. Also individuals from Dayton, Chicago State and Northwestern will play as well.
