The victory was the third postseason win for the Raiders in program history and its first in three tries in the WNIT.  Previously, WSU defeated Buffalo in the 2011 WBI (82-79) and SIU Edwardsville in the 2012 WBI (73-64).

Katrina Merriweather was named the league Coach of the Year while junior Chelsea Welch was selected First Team All-Horizon League.

Four Raiders average in double figures: Chelsea Welch (18.6), Lexi Smith (12.8), Emily Vogelpohl (10.9) and Symone Simmons (10.0).  Simmons (9.0) and Smith (8.9) lead the Raiders in rebounding.

Last Time Out: Down three with 2:14 to play, Wright State scored the final five points of the game to pull out a thrilling 66-64 decision over Central Michigan in the first round of the Women's NIT Thursday night at Wright State's Nutter Center.

Welch led WSU with 21 points while Simmons had a career-best 20 points and Smith 10.

Michigan: The Wolverines, 23-9, led by as many as 21 points in the first half before withstanding a second-half rally from Kent State in a 67-60 win in the first round of the WNIT on Thursday evening at home.

UM was coming off a 74-64 loss to Michigan State in its first game of the Big Ten Touranment in Indianapolis on March 3.

Head coach Kim Barnes Arico was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year to highlight U-M's Big Ten honors. The Big Ten also honored junior Katelynn Flaherty (first team), sophomore Hallie Thome (second team) and freshman Kysre Gondrezick (second team/all-freshman).

Series: In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, the Wolverines defeated the Raiders last season 81-53 in the first round of the WNIT
