Wright State: The Raiders, now 24-8, were co-champions of the Horizon League regular season.  It is the first regular-season title for Wright State.  It is the fourth straight year that the Raiders have won at least 20 games.

Katrina Merriweather was named the league Coach of the Year while junior Chelsea Welch was selected to the first team.

Three Raiders average in double figures: Chelsea Welch (18.6), Lexi Smith (12.9), Emily Vogelpohl (11.0).  Symone Simmons (9.1) and Smith (8.9) lead the Raiders in rebounding.  Simmons is at 9.7 points per game while Taylor Mackenzie sits at 9.4.  Smith was selected to the All-Horizon League Tournament Team.

Last Time Out: The Raiders defeated UIC in the first game in the Motor City Madness Horizon League Tournament in Detroit 79-52.  WSU dropped the semifinal game to Detroit Mercy 71-52.

Against Detroit Mercy, Smith led the Raiders with 18 points and 14 rebounds as Vogelpohl also chipped in a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.  UDM advanced to the championship game where they lost to Green Bay.

Central Michigan: The Chippewas, 23-8 overall, won 15 games in the Mid-American Conference, losing to Western Michigan in the MAC Tournament in Cleveland 67-63.

Four members of the Mid-America Conference regular-season champion Central Michigan women's basketball team have received all-league honors.  Tinara Moore and Presley Hudson were named to the All-MAC First Team, and Reyna Frost and Jewel Cotton were named to the third team. It marks the first time CMU has had two first-teamers since 1991.

Hudson leads CMU in scoring at 17.0 points per game average while Moore sits at 16.2 points per game.  Frost has grabbed 11.3 rebounds per game.

Notes: Central Michigan and Wright State have met three previous times, with the Chippewas holding a 2-1 series lead, including a 65-60 decision over the Raiders in the last meeting on December 20, 2011, as part of the Wright State Invitational Presented by Holiday Inn.

The two teams have five common opponents this season in Oakland, UIC, Illinois, Kent State and Miami.  Wright State went 6-2 against those opponents (3-0 UIC, 2-0 Oakland, 1-0 Miami, 0-1 Illinois, 0-1 Kent State) while Central Michigan was 5-0 (1-0 Illinois, 1-0 Kent State, 1-0 Miami, 1-0 Oakland, 1-0 UIC).
