Sophomore lefthander Zane Collins of the Wright State baseball team has been named as the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 5, it was announced Monday by the league office.
Collins (West Mansfield, OH/Benjamin Logan) threw seven shutout innings in a start Saturday at Wofford, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out seven as the Raiders won 3-0.
On the season, Collins is 1-2 with a 2.12 earned run average and has struck out 14 in 17 innings.
Collins is the second Raider to receive Pitcher of the Week honors this season as Danny Sexton was selected on February 20.
Wright State (7-4) travels to Lexington to take on the Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday, March 7, at 4:00 before opening its home schedule this weekend.
