Softball to play Six in Tennessee

The Wright State softball team will play a single game at Lipscomb in Nashville Wednesday at 4 pm before competing in the Blues City Classic in Memphis Friday through Sunday.

After the Lipscomb game, the Raiders will take on Tennessee State (12:15 pm) and Louisiana Tech (2:30 pm) Friday, Belmont (10 am) and Memphis (12:15 pm) before finishing with Tennessee State (12:15 pm) Sunday.

Raiders: Macy Cook has led Wright State, 2-8, with a .367 batting average.  She has collected six RBI, a double and a home run.  Alexis Mayle is close behind at .321 but leads the team with eight RBI.  Honnah Susor is hitting .313 in the leadoff spot with two stolen bases.  On the mound, Ashley Sharp has two wins with 11 strikeouts.

Opponents:  Lipscomb will enter Wednesday’s contest with a 10-5 record, winning four of the last five.  Tennessee State will start tournament play with a 4-9 record, losing eight of the last nine games.  Tech has a record 11-5, going 3-1 in their own tournament last weekend.  Belmont is currently 11-1 and Memphis is 4-7.

Next Up: The Raiders will play in the Louisville Tournament March 11-12, taking on the host Cardinals along with Ohio and IUPUI.
