The women's track team will compete in the 2017 Horizon League Track & Field Championships, held at the Watson and Tressel Training Site on the campus of Youngstown State University February 25-26.

Senior Alexandra Brown (Yellow Springs, OH) set a new WSU record in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:18.86. She would go on to break her own record later in the season with a time for 10:04 and also set a school record in the 1 mile run (5:05.38).

The Raiders will also look for help from sophomore Hailey Brumfield (Tipp City, OH), who ranks third in the Horizon League in the 5k and just three seconds over the overall leader and freshman Cameron Campbell (Springboro, OH), who had two first place finishes of her own in the 200 meter run.

In the field events, sophomore Maria Heckman (Minster, OH) established a new school record in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.66 meters and is currently tied for the top spot in the Horizon League. The Raiders will also turn to junior Katie Abrahamowicz (Beavercreek, OH) and senior Gabrielle Markley (Beavercreek, OH), who both had first place finishes throughout the season in the triple jump and high jump respectively.
