Senior forwards Peguy Ngatcha and Eric Lynch of the men's soccer team are among the list of players eligible for the Major League Soccer draft, which takes place on Friday, January 13, and Tuesday, January 17. Ngatcha is #81 on the Top Drawer Soccer MLS Draft Big Board while Lynch is #84.
Ngatcha (Manchester, NH/Kimball Union Academy) was a First Team All-Great Lakes Region selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, First Team All-Ohio by the Ohio Soccer Coaches Association, the Horizon League Player of Year as well as the league's Offensive Player of the Year. He tied for the league lead with 10 goals and was second with 24 points. The Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week on October 10, he scored two goals in wins over Cincinnati, UIC and Northern Kentucky, with his other four goals coming against Portland, Duquesne, Oakland and Detroit Mercy. He also had four assists on the year versus Portland, North Carolina State, Cleveland State and Valparaiso.
Lynch (Bellbrook, OH/Bellbrook) was a Second Team All-Great Lakes Region honoree, Second Team All-Ohio and First Team All-Horizon League as he finished second on the team with six goals, six assists and 18 points. Lynch was fourth in the league in assists and points and tied for fifth in goals. Lynch scored game-winning goals against Duquesne, Eastern Illinois, Detroit Mercy and Valparaiso and also had goals versus UIC and North Carolina State. He also had two assists at Portland and one against Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Oakland and Valparaiso.
Lynch finished his Raider career second on the all-time assist list with 30, was fourth in matches played with 81 and was 10th in points with 72 (21 goals, 30 assists).
Wright State (11-6-3) won its first-ever Horizon League regular-season title in 2016 and advanced to the championship match of the league tournament for the third consecutive season.
