The Wright State men's tennis team resumes their 2016-17 season with a pair of matches this weekend at Michigan State Saturday before hosting Saint Francis Sunday at the South Regency Tennis and Fitness Center (3020 W. Tech Road in Miamisburg).
"This is a tough schedule for our young team, but one I believe will prepare us for Horizon League play and will also help our players gain the necessary experience to develop their games," WSU head coach Eric Burns said. "We are working hard every day to improve and get our team ready for this season. We are excited to see how they will compete."
The spring season kicks off with five road contests in the first eight matches, including Michigan State on January 13 and matches against two teams from the state of Ohio in Toledo (January 21) and Xavier (January 27). Playing home matches at South Regency Tennis Center, the Raiders will host Saint Francis (January 15), Abilene Christian (January 27), Illinois State (February 11) and Dayton (February 25).
The spring season closes with six of the last eight matches at home against Youngstown State (April 1), Cleveland State (April 2), Rose-Hulman (April 2), UIC (April 8), Valparaiso (April 9), and Indiana East (April 9).
The 2017 Horizon League Tournament will take place April 28-30 in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan Varsity Tennis Center.
