Cross Country Competes at HL Championships

The Wright State women recorded their highest-ever league finish as the cross country teams competed Saturday at the Horizon League Championships in Somers, Wisconsin.

Sophomore Aurora Turner led the way for the Raider women, finishing 13th overall in the 6K race with a time of 22:39, earning Second Team All-League honors as a results.  Joining Turner on the Second Team was senior Alexandra Brown, who placed 14th with a time of 22:58.

The second-place finish for WSU was the highest-ever for the program, eclipsing the third-place finishes in 2001 and 2015.  Head coach Rick Williamson was named as Horizon League Co-Coach of the Year with Paul Rice of Oakland.

On the men's side, freshman Ryan Dunn set the pace with an 8K time of 26:21, finishing in 13th place, earning Second Team All-League honors.

Wright State will return to action on Friday, November 11, to compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals in Madison, Wisconsin.
