Women's Soccer at NKU to Start Tournament

The Wright State women’s soccer team will play the first round of the Horizon League Tournament at Northern Kentucky Monday at 7 pm.  The game will be shown live on ESPN3.

Wright State:  The Raiders, 6-10-2 and 4-4-1, are coming off a 3-2 loss at Oakland Friday night.  WSU, the #6 seed, is led by Aaliyah Patten (4g, 4a) for 12 points as Sarah Colvin (3g, 4a) and Mattie Cutts (5g) each have 10 points.  Goalie Katie Ruff, a three-time Defensive Horizon League Player of the Week, has a 1.57 goals against average overall.

Northern Kentucky:  The Norse, 10-6-1 and 6-2-1, finished in third place in the Horizon League after losing at Valparaiso Friday night 2-1.  NKU defeated the Raiders 3-1 in Dayton on October 25.  Macy Hamblin (8g, 7a) leads NKU with 23 points while Jessica Frey (7g, 3a) has 17 points.  Emily Lohmann plays the nets with a goals against average of 1.01.

Looking Ahead: With a win, the Raiders will play at #1 seed Milwaukee Thursday night at 8:00 Eastern.  The championship match is slated for Saturday night at 7:00 Eastern, also at Milwaukee.

Horizon League post-season honors are due out Monday.
