Women’s Soccer Plays at Oakland

The Wright State women’s soccer team will play its final regular-season game at Oakland Friday night at 7 pm.  The game will be shown on ESPN3.

Wright State:  The Raiders, 6-9-2 and 4-3-1, are coming off a 3-1 loss Tuesday night to Northern Kentucky.  WSU is currently in fourth place in the Horizon League, a point ahead of Oakland, Valpraiso and UIC.  Mattie Cutts (5g), Aaliyah Patten (3g, 4a) and Sarah Colvin (3g, 4a) each have 10 points.  Goalie Katie Ruff, a three-time Defensive Horizon League Player of the Week, has a 1.48 goals against average overall.

Oakland:  The Golden Grizzlies are currently 7-9-1 and 4-4, coming off a 1-0 win at Valpo last Saturday night.  OU won 1-0 over WSU last season and again 1-0 in the Horizon League championship game in overtime.  Sydnye Gagner leads Oakland with 17 points (8g, 1a) while Alison Holland minds the nets with a 0.98 goals against average.

Looking Ahead: Next up, the Raiders will find out after the games are played Friday about their seed in the Horizon League Tournament.
