Brumfield Named HL Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Wright State sophomore Hailey Brumfield has been named as the Horizon League Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending October 16, it was announced Monday by the league office.

Brumfield (Tipp City, OH/Tippecanoe) led the Raiders to a first-place finish at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic in Wilmington on Friday as she placed second out of 366 runners with a 5K time of 17:53.  WSU finished first out of 38 other teams in that meet with a score of 50.

On the season, Brumfield has finished in the top 15 in all four races she has competed in.  She was 13th at the Queen City Invitational, 14th at the Parkside Open and 15th at the All-Ohio Championships.

Wright State returns to action on Saturday, October 29, at the Horizon League Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
