Todd Tucker has been named interim head coach for the Wright State men’s and women’s tennis programs after serving as assistant coach at Wright State in the spring of 2014. He replaces Sean McCaffrey, who accepted a position as head coach at Armstrong State last month.
Tucker came to WSU after serving as the Director of Tennis at the Ivan Lendl International Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, South Carolina. With over 24 years of teaching and coaching experience, his years of on-court tennis experience coupled with his classroom teaching experience at a nationally awarded alternative school gives him unique abilities in working with student athletes.
As a player, Tucker was a nationally ranked junior and won a National Championship at North Greenville College (1987-88). He continued his education at Muskingum University, majoring in Education as an Intervention Specialist.
Tucker's coaching experience includes nationally ranked and collegiate All-Americans as well as being a travelling coach on the pro-circuit and the national junior circuit. He also served as a volunteer assistant coach for his brother, Ty, at Ohio State for 11 years.
